Plaza Vieja (Old Square)

PLAZA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN OR PLAZA VIEJA

A square that has witnessed the history of the town for as long as we can remember. Always alive, it is one of the three squares that form the triangle of the nerve centre of life in Viver.

 

Fountain of the Assumption

The historian Francisco Diago was the driving force behind the construction of this monument that commemorates the arrival of the waters to the municipality. It was built in 1608 and over the years has occupied different positions in the Pza. de la Constitución.

 

Its Baroque style is reinforced by its Eucharistic chalice shape and topped by an image of the Assumption.
