Petanque/birlas court
35 Av. de Valencia Viver
Petanque (pétanque in French) is a sport/game in which the objective is to throw balls as close as possible to a jack, previously thrown by a player, with both feet on the ground and in a static position from a designated area.
The sport in its current form emerged in 1907 in Provence, France, although a primitive version was played earlier with stone balls, which was brought to Provence by Roman soldiers and sailors. Its name comes from the expression ‘pè(s) tancats’ (‘feet together’) in the Provençal language.
They are located next to Chorrillo Park.
