SANTA CECILIA MUSICAL UNION OF VIVER

What would our festivities be without music? Who would bring joy to the streets of our town? Can you imagine a parade, cavalcade or procession without music? It seems unthinkable to all of us. Yet behind all that joy filling our streets there is a great deal of hard work and dedication.

Many years have passed since our society began making music at the start of the last century. However, it was not until 1979 that it took shape as we know it today as the Santa Cecilia Musical Union, and joined the Valencian Regional Federation of Musical Societies. Numerous presidents, conductors and musicians have made it possible for us to be where we are today, and we are deeply grateful to each and every one of them.

We have taken part in many competitions and festivals, as well as performing on international stages such as Salzburg, Todtmoos and Disneyland Paris.

The true driving force of our band is its wonderful Music School, which was registered on 1 March 2002 in the Register of Educational Centres of the Valencian Community under the Directorate of Educational Centres of the Department of Culture and Education. It currently has around 50 enrolled students.

The work carried out by the school over the years has led to our band now having a line-up of approximately 60 outstanding musicians.

Music is what makes us human: it connects us with our emotions, unites us as a society, and keeps us connected to our history.
A town without music would be a place without soul, without rhythm, and without a heartbeat—nothing would make sense.

It is impossible to imagine Viver without its band, and we could not be prouder to play for our town! 🎶
