The past 12 August, the sky treated us to an exceptional spectacle: a total solar eclipse that could be observed from Viver.
For a few minutes, the Moon passed exactly between the Earth and the Sun, completely covering our star and transforming the evening light into a remarkable darkness. As well as its beauty, the event allowed us to witness one of the most impressive sights in astronomy: the solar corona, visible around the Moon’s dark disc during totality.
Total solar eclipses are rare phenomena from any given location. Being able to experience one from our area was therefore a very special occasion to look up at the sky and appreciate our surroundings from a different perspective.
The photographs accompanying this article were taken by Josep Miralles, Joanma Bullón and Luis Farinós, allowing us to preserve some of the most spectacular moments of that unforgettable 12 August.
