Jazz Nights in Viver | Manouche Vermouth
The Jazz Nights in Viver series continues with a performance by Manouche Vermouth, a five-piece ensemble that pays tribute to jazz manouche, or gypsy jazz, the musical style popularised by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt during the first half of the twentieth century.
Combining the elegance of European swing with the warmth of chanson and acoustic jazz, the group invites audiences on a musical journey through melodies and rhythms that evoke the atmosphere of Parisian cafés and the rich tradition of European Romani music.
The origins of Manouche Vermouth are particularly distinctive. The ensemble was born following the discovery of an acoustic guitar built in France in 1949. Inside the instrument was the name of its maker, the luthier Louis Patenotte, leading the musicians to discover the very style for which it had originally been created: jazz manouche.
The ensemble is composed of Pepa Chamorro (vocals), María Sirvent (clarinet), José Vicente Pérez (lead guitar), José Miguel Marín (rhythm guitar) and David Marín (acoustic bass and melodica).
A unique opportunity to experience the magic of swing and acoustic jazz in an exceptional heritage setting.
