History among Ruins
A place with soul, where several families once lived until the Civil War. Today there are only remains of what it was, although there are still a couple of restored corrals and the "Caseta de Monleón" (N39.95013 W0.66589), an occasional refuge for hunters.
Its former inhabitants and their descendants are still known as "Monleoneros", recalling the past of this farmhouse, which in its day was key to farming, grazing and transit between Viver, Torás, Barracas, Bejís and Pina.
Traces of the past: On entering the Colada de Monleón you will find wine presses, a dry ‘navajo’ and the well; following the path, another wine press, a ‘navajo’ with water and the remains of the oven.
