We offer you eighteen hiking routes through places full of nature. These routes are suitable for people of all ages.
The proposed route takes us to several points of historical interest near Viver, in the area of the river Palancia. Although the route is short in terms of walking, we will spend a good amount of time visiting the areas and enjoying the scenery. We will use old paths, although most of them are currently suitable for vehicles and asphalted, but only used by local people. We propose a couple of variations on the original design of the route (year 2000). We will walk through orchards, some of which are now abandoned, but always surrounded by the green of the fields and the water of the various irrigation channels and the river Palancia. We will also be able to visit the historical remains of the old electricity production factories (early 20th century) and an old watchtower (from the Muslim period). We can also enjoy the recreational area of the Sargal, with its caves, fountains and places of rough stone. In short, a small route but full of places to see and enjoy.
This route takes us to the two main springs of Viver, first to the San Miguel spring, where the water is taken for the consumption of the population as well as for an important irrigation system made up of a network of irrigation channels, and then to the Ojos del Prao spring, where the water is taken to irrigate an area of the Viver market gardens as well as a large part of the market gardens of Jérica (including the hamlet of Novaliches).
This route takes us to visit two interesting places near Viver, on the one hand the Cerro de Santa Cruz, from where we will enjoy good views over the village and its surroundings, and on the other hand the Sargal spot, a pleasant recreational area next to the river Palancia, where we can visit the Caves excavated in rough stone.
The route runs between the villages of Viver and Teresa, largely following the course of the river. Through paths and tracks we will walk along the old footpath (and also horse and mule tracks) that linked the two villages and which was widely used until after the Civil War. Although deteriorated in some stretches, it will allow us to enjoy beautiful and peaceful spots, while at the same time remembering the effort that our ancestors made so many times.
La Chana Fountain - Regajo water ravine– Palancia river– Peñas Rubias
Through a circular route we will visit the three hermitages of San Roque in the nearby towns of Jérica, Benafer and Viver. In addition to the value of walking along pleasant paths, we will have the opportunity to visit the villages, their hermitages and some of their fountains. And of course, to be able to talk to their people.
This circular route runs through different parts of Viver and Jérica, allowing you to enjoy good views of both villages from the San Roque mountain, observe different elements of the traditional irrigation system such as irrigation ditches, ponds and weirs, stroll through quiet fields, and of course, enjoy pleasant corners and fountains.
This very simple circular route is a good and pleasant walk for those people who like to walk through quiet areas without any difficulty.
A short but very interesting route that can be extended by visiting other points of your choice, and which takes in several places of interest and little-known corners.
This circular route covers a large part of the Montes de Ragudo, especially almost the entire ridge, so you can enjoy good views. We will also be able to observe different historical elements. On the way back we will take the Monleón path, a quiet area with a pleasant walk through the pine trees.
This circular route runs through the whole of the Cambras area, a large area that includes several smaller areas, as well as part of Monleón. All these areas are very quiet, and it is easy not to see anyone along the route.
This circular route in the shape of an eight runs through the areas of Los Infantes and Morredondo, between two well-known springs, crossing little-visited spots. The part of the Alto de los Infantes will allow us to enjoy views over this part of the municipality, as well as other areas of the neighbouring towns of Teresa and Torás.
This circular route runs from the town of Viver to the Masías de Ragudo, a hamlet of Viver made up of several groups of houses. The outward journey is almost direct, partly along what may have been the old royal road, but the return journey follows the course of the Barranco Hurón ravine. Along the entire route, you can observe a variety of interesting elements.
A circular route of little difficulty, as it generally runs along wide paths, which runs through part of the northern part of the municipality, reaching the area of Manantial de la Fuensanta, located between Benafer and Caudiel, but very close to the border of Viver. The route runs through highly cultivated areas, as this part of the territory has been worked for many years, but in recent times it has been intensively converted to drip irrigation of almond and walnut trees.
This is a circular route of medium difficulty, as it runs along several stretches of bad paths, which crosses the areas of Las Cambras and Alto del Niño, visiting different sets of war remains from the Civil War of 1936-1939. The interest of the route lies both in the visit to the war sites and also in the little-known corners, but interesting for their views and their own beauty. The route is short in length, but requires time to enjoy the different areas that are visited.
A circular route of little difficulty, which allows us to walk through the Benabal sector, a large area in the south of the municipality of Viver, and which includes several areas, which are commented on as the route progresses. It should be noted that in the adjoining municipality of Jérica there is also another large area with the same name, Benabal.
Through the Cañada de Benabal, El Tosco, Río Palancia, Las Quinchas, and Peñas Rubias.
Circular route of medium difficulty, as it traverses some paths with steep slopes and uneven terrain, covering various spots near the village of Viver. It is a complicated route to follow due to the number of crossroads, so unless one is very familiar with the area, the use of GPS with the corresponding track is recommended or necessary.
